The Festa Contadina, every year since August 2007, on the night of the shooting stars of San Lorenzo, is a traditional local food and wine event that enlivens the alleys of the ancient village with numerous protagonists:
- traditional Rivaltina peasant dishes - cooked with passion by skilled local cooks: pappa con il tomato (bread and tomato soup), spelled soup, black cabbage soup, barbecued sausages, pasta with wild boar ragout, tripe, peasant omelettes, wheat flour millecci (wheat flour millets), wedding with cream (cream pasta) and typical desserts
- genuine red wine from the area - to accompany the culinary delights
- folk and dance music - to live up the evening
- decorations and ornaments - the old village is enriched with embroidery, work tools, objects and proverbs from rural tradition
- the starry sky - explored with the expert guidance of the Associazione Astrofili Alta Valdera
- the precious lilleri - currency for one evening, necessary to be able to "lallerare" because, as the proverb goes, "senza lilleri 'un si lallera" (ie, without money you don't have fun!)
